The progeny of Lammerskraal’s exciting young sire Visionaire proved very popular at last week’s CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.
Visionaire’s youngsters fetched up to R550 000, with Rainbow Beach Trading purchasing the top priced Visionaire two-year-old.
Visionaire’s top lot sold was a colt, consigned by Summerhill Sales, out of the winning Count Dubois mare Heliantha. Inbred to the great sire Gone West, the colt (a half brother to 2 winners) is out of a daughter of Oaks runner up Tropical Garden, also dam of G2 Majorca Stakes winner Wild Aster.
Rainbow Beach Trading also paid R420 000 for another Visionaire colt. Named Volcanic Sunset, the R420 000 colt, a full brother to a winner, is out of a winning half sister to the dam of G3 winning 2yo Thekkady (by National Emblem).
One of South Africa’s most exciting young sires, Visionaire ended as the second leading sire, by aggregate, at the 2016 CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale, with his ten lots to sell grossing a total of R2.33 million.
