Lammerskraal Stud’s exciting sire Visionaire enjoyed a great weekend recently. Not only did this progeny prove popular at last week’s CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale, but his top class daughter Heaps Of Fun walked off with two awards at Saturday’s KZN Breeders Awards.
Trained by Sean Tarry, and owned by Nchaka Moloi and Chris Van Niekerk, Heaps Of Fun was named both Outstanding 3YO Filly and Outstanding Middle Distance Female, after a season which saw her prevail over an outstanding field in the G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas.
To date, Heaps Of Fun has earned over R660 000 in prize money, and has also been placed in the G2 Camellia Stakes, G3 Fillies Mile and Listed Starling Stakes.
She is one of more than 30 winners to have emerged from Visionaire’s first crop –a crop which also includes G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Royal Pleasure, Guineas placed Vilikazi and the smart G3 Flamboyant Stakes second Lala.
Visionaire’s second crop also looks well above average and includes the high class G1 performers Africa Rising and Visuality, and a number of lightly raced winners of promise.
A half brother to US G1 winner Tara’s Tango, Visionaire’s offspring fetched up to R550 000 at last week’s CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.
